NOVEMBER 12, 1930 – OCTOBER 5, 2022
Lon V. Chaney, age 91, of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the Everheart Hospice Care Center, Greenville, Ohio. Born November 12, 1930 in Lima, Ohio; his parents were the late Emsley & Glenna Mae (Metzger) Chaney. Lon went to grade school in the Springfield, Ohio area and graduated from Sidney High School in 1948.
He entered the United States Army in November of 1951 and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska until 1953.
He had worked at Monarch Machine Tool until 1974 and retired from the Ford Motor Engine Plant, in Lima, Ohio.
On June 25, 1960 he married the love of his life, Norma Magill. They had their 62nd wedding anniversary this year.
Surviving are his wife Norma: sister Ann Bolyard & husband Bob of Ontario, Oregon: sister-in-law Dorothy Chaney of Ft. Laramie: also many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his parents are his sister Carol Maine: brothers Ed Chaney; Don Chaney; Ray Chaney: also two nephews Dale Chaney and Larry Maine.
Friends may call on the family from 2:00 PM- 5:00 PM on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Funeral service to be held on Monday, October 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Marshall Metzger presiding. Burial to follow at Shelby Memorial Gardens, Sidney, Ohio.
