Marilyn Fornshil

Marilyn Fornshil age 90, of Wayne Lakes passed away at 4:54 am Thursday, September 22, 2022, at her residence.

Marilyn was born March 15, 1932, in Lewisburg to the late Josiah William & Goldie Elizabeth (Bunger) Foster. Marilyn was also preceded in death by her husband, David Allen Fornshil on October 8, 2017, whom she married August 15, 1954; granddaughters, Rachael Elizabeth Bass and infant McNutt; siblings, Joe Foster, Millicent “Millie” Ditmer, Rolland “Dean” Foster, Daryl Foster and Donna Lee Taylor; and brother-in-law, Donald Fornshil.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Rebecca Hatfield of Wayne Lakes, Debra & Rodney McNutt of Wayne Lakes, Lisa Pasch of Pendleton, Indiana, Dean & Christine Fornshil of Dayton and Chris & Ronda Fornshil of Wayne Lakes; grandchildren, Jesse Hatfield, Trisha Allison, Allison Roberts, Christopher Fornshil, Steven Fornshil, Maggie Salem, Andrew Fornshil, Jamie Welch and Matthew Fornshil; great grandchildren, Brandilyn Allison, Gage Allison, Rowan Hawes, Dayne Roberts, Cam Fornshil, Landen Roberts, Jordyn Welch, Zoey Fornshil, Khaled Salem, Cora Fornshil, Sophie Higgs, Carter Fornshil, Faith Welch, Xavier Higgs and Bella Hatfield; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ann Ditmer of Greenville and Betsy Miller of Greenville.

Marilyn was a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital and Gade Nursing Home while being a homemaker, raising her family. Marilyn along with her late husband, David owned and operated an H&R Block. Marilyn was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Greenville where she was active in WELCO, and St. Paul’s Evangelism Committee and prayer group leader. She was a former member of the Ladies of the Lakes. Marilyn along with her late husband, David enjoyed traveling in their RV. She enjoyed fishing, volunteering, basketball, spoiling her grandchildren, spending time with her family and spreading love and cheer.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Alan Knoke officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Fort Jefferson. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Greenville, Alzheimer’s Association or EverHeart Hospice in Greenville.
