Sharon Kay Gilland

April 5, 1970  –  May 20, 2023

Sharon Kay Gilland, 53, of Ansonia, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

She was born on April 5, 1970, in Greenville, Ohio, to Martha (Baker) Everman of Ansonia, and the late Larry Everman.

In addition to her father, Sharon was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mary Lane; her aunt, Mick Beasecker; and her nephew, Dylan Everman.

Sharon was simple, easy going, yet had an attitude. She was quite the talker, spending hours on the phone with her mother-in-law. She enjoyed going to the fair and “people watch”. She seemed to love to clean, always offering to clean her family’s homes. However, no matter how much she cleaned her own home, she always thought it was a mess.

Above all other things, Sharon was a mom and grandma. She loved spending time with her family. She was always involved and attending their functions; being their taxi service to anywhere they needed to be; and of course bossing her kids and grandkids around. Her life revolved around their needs and schedules, and their lives will forever be missing her helping and guiding presence.

Sharon is survived by her children, Atasha Mikesell, Bryer (Brittany) Gilland, and Darby Gilland, all of Ansonia; her grandchildren, Staranna Whittaker and Journey Mikesell; her siblings, Don (Laura) Everman of Arcanum, Ohio, Lisa (Randy) Heck, and Ryan (Amber) Everman, both of Ansonia; and countless nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

A Celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville campus, with Pastor Steve Short officiating. Burial will follow at Ansonia Cemetery.

Her family will be receiving guests on Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tribute Funeral Homes to help offset Sharon’s final expenses.
