The theme for 2024’s Older Americans Month is Powered by Connection

Every year, the Administration for Community Living, which is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, leads the nation’s observance of Older Americans Month in May.

The theme for 2024 is “Powered by Connection“, which recognizes the profound impact that meaningful relationships and social connections have on health and well-being.

The Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP) serves as the state’s official Medicare educational and counseling program, and works to foster meaningful relationships and is inspired by the power of connection to make a difference in the lives of Ohioans on Medicare.

Through personalized support, OSHIIP staff and volunteers provide crucial Medicare insights while also enhancing the health and well-being of Ohioans by establishing purposeful rapport and alleviating the stress and confusion sometimes associated with navigating health insurance.

In essence, OSHIIP not only empowers individuals with knowledge about Medicare but also strives to enrich lives through compassionate human connection.

OSHIIP staff can be reached at 800-686-1578 and oshiipmail@insurance.ohio.gov.
