Traffic stop leads to arrest

On January 3rd, 2024, an officer from the Greenville Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the course of the traffic stop, a K-9 unit from the Darke County Sheriff’s Office was requested to the scene which resulted in the K-9 showing positive alert to the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, suspected narcotics, narcotics paraphernalia, and a loaded 9mm firearm was located inside of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Christopher A. Ressler (56), was arrested and transported to the Darke County Jail where he was incarcerated on the preliminary charges of possession of drugs, a felony of the 3rd degree, as well as the charge of having weapons under disability (in reference to having prior felony drug convictions), also a felony of the 3rd degree.
