Local Cancer Support Group to hold Christmas Carry-In
The Cancer Association Support Group was cancelled in December due to an emergency. The group will meet for the annual Christmas carry-in (a little late ☺ )  on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 7 p.m. at Wayne Health Care. The carry-in will be held in the 3rd floor Conference Room. Meeting scheduled January 24 - GREENVILLE – The Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure, commonly called GOBA, will celebrate its 25th year in 2013 with a visit to Darke County, including an overnight in Greenville and food stops in Versailles and Ansonia. GOBA is an annual, eight-day, 50-mile-per-day circular bicycle camping tour in Ohio that began in 1989 and has grown to be the second largest such event in the country. Darke County Commissioners Special Sessions
The Darke County Board of Commissioners has scheduled “Special Sessions” to be held on Friday, December 28th, 2012, at 9:00 a.m., for 2012 Appropriation Increases & Decreases; AND  Friday, January 4, 2013, at 9:00 a.m., for signing 2013 Appropriations.  No “Regular Session” will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013.  The Board of Commissioners will continue to hold “Regular Sessions” on Monday & Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m., starting the week of January 7th, 2013.

Candlelight Christmas Eve Service at Greenville First UMC
The public is invited to attend Greenville First United Methodist’s Candlelight Christmas Eve Service  on December 24th at 8:30.  Music will begin at 8:15, followed by traditional Christmas carols, the Christmas story, and closing with a candlelight service.  Greenville First UMC  is located at 202 w. 4th St.,  across from the library.  The church is fully handicapped-accessible, with a ramp located in the rear adjacent to the parking lot.  For additional questions, please call 548-3075.

A Quiet Service of Hope for those Facing a Sad Christmas

Pearl Harbor Day Dec. 7… Public invited to attend Vets Building Open House
This Friday, December 7th marks the 71st anniversary of the Japanese attack on the US Naval Base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii.   More than 2,400 American were killed in the two hour bombing, 21 ships were sunk or damaged and more than 188 US aircrafts destroyed. Heartland of Greenville announces “Day of Giving
Heartland of Greenville invites the public to their first annual “Day of Giving” on Monday, December 10 from 2 to 6 p.m.  This holiday event will support Heartland’s toy drive, and visitors are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for donation to Toys for Tots.
